Top Cannabis Brands Scale Global And US Footprint As Industry Matures

Cannabis edibles provider Wana Brands is launching its premium gummies in Zürich, Switzerland.

The move is part of the country’s first-of-its-kind cannabis pilot program, the company said on Friday.

Wana Brands, a subsidiary of Canopy USA LLC, will launch three different gummy packs, including Sativa, Hybrid, and Indica, which will hit the shelves in December 2025 through a partnership with The Alpen Group.

“As Wana celebrates 15 years of elevating the edibles experience, our gummies continue to marry culinary artistry with plant-powered science,” Brooks Jorgensen, president at Canopy USA, a U.S.-based holding company in which Canopy Growth Corporation (NASDAQ: CGC) (TSX: WEED) holds a non-participating, non-controlling interest. “We’re proud to work alongside like-minded partners to bring Wana to a thoughtfully regulated global pilot program and a new generation of consumers.”

MediPharm Labs Corp. (TSX: LABS) (OTCQB: MEDIF) (FSE: MLZ), a CBD-based pharmaceutical company, reported on Thursday the completion of its first shipment to France.

This milestone follows a production agreement with an international medicinal cannabis organization.

In the meantime, North American cannabis giants continue to bolster their nationwide presence.

Curaleaf Holdings, Inc. (CSE: CURA) (OTCQX: CURLF) announced last week it plans to cut the ribbon it its latest medical cannabis dispensary in Cape Canaveral, Florida, located at 6710 N Atlantic Avenue. This new location brings Curaleaf’s store count to 70 in the Sunshine State and 159 nationwide.

In Canada, cannabis retailer High Tide Inc. (NASDAQ: HITI) (TSXV: HITI) (FSE: 2LYA) announced the opening of three new Canna Cabana-branded locations across Ontario and Alberta, located in the cities of Calgary, London and Brampton. These openings bring High Tide’s total store count to 218 Canna Cabana locations across the country, including 91 in the province of Alberta and 94 in the province of Ontario.

Both Curaleaf and High Tide are seizing business opportunities overseas as well. While Curaleaf has been solidifying its position in Germany for a while, High Tide announced its official expansion into the European country last week. The company has launched its first international Canna Cabana location in Berlin, on the heels of its recent acquisition of Remexian Pharma GmbH, a licensed medical cannabis importer and distributor based in Germany.
