TerrAscend Chairman Jason Wild On How The Company Is Preparing For A Major U.S. Exchange Listing
The cannabis industry is entering a period when strategic focus matters as much as scale. Companies with established footprints are reassessing where they can compete most effectively as markets mature, regulations shift, and capital begins to reengage. Jason Wild, executive chairman of multistate operator TerrAscend, says the company is concentrating on the states where it already has meaningful depth and the clearest path to long‑term success.
“Our focus right now is deepening our position in our core markets — New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Ohio,” Wild explains in a written interview with IgniteIt. “We’ve made a deliberate decision to concentrate resources where we have the strongest operational infrastructure and the best chance to win.”
That perspective will be part of what Wild brings to Chicago when industry leaders gather for IgniteIt’s Cannabis Capital Conference on June 15 and 16.

TerrAscend has built a broad platform across the North American cannabis sector. The TSX‑listed company operates in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Ohio, and California through TerrAscend Growth Corp., as well as in Canada through its retail operations. Its footprint includes The Apothecarium and other dispensary brands, supported by cultivation, processing, and manufacturing facilities that supply both medical and adult‑use markets. TerrAscend also owns or licenses a portfolio of consumer brands, including Cookies, Ilera Healthcare, Kind Tree, Legend, State Flower, Wana, and Valhalla Confections.
Positioning For An Uplisting And A More Competitive Landscape
Wild says TerrAscend’s operational focus is paired with a capital markets strategy that has been years in development. The company recently announced a Special Meeting of Shareholders on August 24 to vote on a share consolidation, a key step toward meeting the requirements for a major U.S. exchange.

“We’ve been positioning for this since 2022 when we became an SEC filer — uplisting is no longer a question of if; it’s a question of when, and that’s a significant moment for the company and for the industry,” he says.
With that milestone approaching, Wild sees Chicago as an important venue for connecting with investors who have not historically had access to the sector. He also expects conversations with potential strategic partners in markets where consolidation opportunities may emerge.
Why Wild Sees Chicago As The Right Room
Wild says the timing of IgniteIt’s Chicago event aligns with a broader shift in how the capital community is viewing the industry.
“Cannabis is at an inflection point, and the conversation seems to be catching up to the opportunity,” he says.
