This Cannabis Co. Backs Mister Jones In New Jersey’s Next Dispensary Launch
Ascend Wellness Holdings, Inc. (CSE: AAWH.U) (OTCQX:AAWH) has partnered with Mister Jones, LLC and recreational cannabis advocate Lerone Jones.
The multi-state, vertically integrated cannabis operator said on Wednesday that the collaboration stands out as one of the key early achievements under New Jersey’s Assembly Bill A4151. That measure is designed to open up greater investment opportunities for cannabis companies with diverse ownership.
Under the agreement, AWH will provide support to fund the retail space and upfront capital, in addition to ensuring a steady product flow. Located at 655 US-46 in Little Falls Township, New Jersey, the dispensary will cut the ribbon on Friday, Dec. 19.
“I am excited to rejoin Ascend in this new capacity and to continue our shared mission of making cannabis accessible and beneficial for all,” Jones said. “I’m passionate about advocating for the power of the plant. This partnership reflects my belief in the potential of this industry to create jobs and stimulate growth in our communities, especially those negatively impacted by the War on Drugs.”
Over the past two years, the cannabis market in the Garden State has grown, despite total sales of $90.4 million in November 2025 having dipped 6.1% year-over-year, according to Headset data. That said, premium pricing of $31.32 per item is among the highest nationwide.
New Jersey became the 14th state to legalize cannabis for adults 21 and older in February 2021, when then-Gov. Phil Murphy signed three bills into law. Voters in New Jersey elected U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ), who believes in cannabis homegrow, to serve as the state’s next governor last month.
