Cresco Taps Traditional Bank Financing To Fuel Growth And Future Uplisting Plans
Cresco Labs Inc. (CSE: CL) (OTCQX: CRLBF) (FSE: 6CQ) announced on Monday that it has closed a $50 million revolving credit facility with Needham Bank.
The credit facility is non-dilutive, meaning Cresco can access capital without issuing new shares and diluting existing shareholders. It carries a fixed annual interest rate of 7.99% and matures in August 2030.
Why It Matters
The company plans to use the capital to fund growth initiatives, acquisitions, and general corporate purposes.
“This facility reflects both the continued maturation of the industry and Cresco’s position within it,” Charlie Bachtell, the company’s CEO, said. “Access to conventional bank capital gives us a powerful, nondilutive tool to accelerate our strategy.”
The credit facility provides Cresco with a lower-cost and more flexible source of financing. That positions the company for potential acquisitions and strategic investments.
The deal is a step toward broader institutional acceptance of the cannabis sector, according to Bachtell.
“This added flexibility positions us to drive growth, strengthen our balance sheet and support Cresco as we work toward broader access to U.S. capital markets and a future uplisting to a senior exchange,” he continued.
The Background
In its first-quarter 2026 earnings report, the company highlighted disciplined cost management, a net loss of $17 million, and major expansions in states such as Pennsylvania and Texas. First-quarter revenue declined to $151.3 million from $165.7 million in the prior year’s quarter.
In the meantime, Cresco said in May that it has registered some of its medical cannabis facilities with the DEA after medical cannabis was moved to Schedule III under federal law.
The company kicked off 2026 by entering an agreement with Haywood Securities Inc. that allows it to sell up to about $100 million in shares over time through a market program. The money raised may be used for general business purposes, including possible future acquisitions, the company said at the time.
CRLBF Price Action
Cresco’s shares traded 4.17% lower at $0.9101 per share at the time of writing on Tuesday.
